“Finally changed shoes after 60,000km. Ditched the stock Bridgestones after 60,000km, changed it for Falken Azenis FK520 Highway Tires, 235/60R18. Wheels came from a local company sourcing from Taiwan ( Concept One Alpha in Glossy Black). The change to 235s gives a more SUV feel to the ride, bumps are at lot more soft now. Surprisingly even the 235s fit in the space under the rear storage (with a slight bump, but not enough to be impractical). Read more”

“Consiglio (urgente) pneumatici: Falken (A, A) o Pirelli (C, A)? Ciao a tutti, urge consiglio da voi che ne sapete certamente più di me! Ieri ho squarciato una gomma e complice il fatto che era in previsione di sostituirle, visto che sto col ruotino, ho deciso di cambiare tutto il treno (Giulietta 1.4 120cv) ma dopo estenuante ricerca su vari siti confrontando prezzi e caratteristiche sono bloccato ad un bivio e non riesco a decidermi. Le due opzioni rimaste sono: Falken Azenis FK520 225/45 R17 94W XL (risparmio carburante A, tenuta sul bagnato A) con recensioni fantastiche ovunque e trovate a 76,89€ su gommadiretto Pirelli P7 Cinturato 225/45 R17 91Y (risparmio carburante C, tenuta sul bagnato A) con altrettante ottime recensioni (ma si dice abbiano pochi mm di battistrada e si usurino in breve tempo) e trovate alla bellezza di 66,50€ cadauna su eBay da venditore super affidabile che ne ha già vendute una marea L’istinto mi dice Pirelli (per il nome ma anche per il prezzo incredibile considerando che altrove non si trovano a meno di 91€) ma la ragione mi dice Falken (A,A è il massimo in quanto a caratteristiche) che è comunque un marchio Premium. Che faccio? Avete esperienze con questi due marchi/modelli? Voi che scegliereste?”

“Escolha de pneus - consumo de combustível Estou a ver pneus para um dos carros cá de casa (Nissan Qashqai) que usa 225/45 R19. E estava a apontar para os Falken Azenis FK520 ou os Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 K127, ambos de Verão. Apesar de a Hankook ser considerada "premium", os Falken são mais caros mas também têm rebordo de proteção de jante (que estes Hankook não têm). No entanto, entretanto encontrei os Pirelli Powergy, também de Verão, mas com a diferença de ter classificação B no consumo de combustível, ao invés da categoria C dos Falken e Hankook. Custam mais 30€ que os Hankook e mais 11€ que os Falken. A minha dúvida é se a melhor classificação de consumo de combustível na prática traz algum benefício real e prático, que justifique pagar mais pelos pneus se eventualmente depois tiver uma notória poupança de consumo? Ou na prática estas classificações são irrelevantes e mais vale ir para os outros 2 mais baratos com classificação C? Read more”

“Your pricing seems way off for Hankook. Here is comparison for 245/40/19 EU prices - Falken FK520 and Hankook Evo K137 (latest and very well performing against Contis, GYs and Michelins) are in 140€ range. GY F1AS6 is 170€ per piece. I went for latest HK Evo K137 and could not be happier - it stacks up very well for a fast driving, is quiet and has excellent response. Falken FK520 is snappy in wet. Goodyears are pensioneer tires, boring as hell.”

“I’ve got FK520’s on my S5, I’d previously always had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 & 6 which I would say were near as damn it as good as PS4’s, but they stopped making them in the size I need so tried the Falkens. They’re OK, nothing fantastic but they do lack a bit of feel, I’d say they’re closer to a touring tyre than a real UHP that they claim, although they have since released RS820’s which are supposed to be a bit more performance oriented.”
