Falken WildPeak A/T Trail review

“New Kicks for the Trail – Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails Installed! Just got these Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails (225/60R18) mounted on my RAV4 and I'm already itching to hit the dirt. Haven’t taken them off-road yet—only about 50 miles in—but they’re quiet, grippy, and give the RAV a tougher, trail-ready stance. Living in Colorado, I needed a tire that could handle mountain passes, dusty fire roads, and the occasional snowstorm without turning the daily drive into a chore. These seem like a solid fit so far. I’ll update once I get them dirty, but for now—loving the look and ride. Setup: 2020 RAV4 XLE AWD Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail – 225/60R18 No lift Anyone else running these? “Tire Fitment 235/50/18 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail Just uploading some pictures of my new tires and they for sure fit with no rubbing if anyone was unsure about getting wider tires on stock wheels. These were just installed so I can’t really speak on MPG differences but the ride feels smoother than the stock tires. The tire shop I had them installed at was worried about the fitment and it’s close, but they don’t rub at maximum wheel turn at all. Stock tires are trash in the snow and leave a lot to be desired as far as traction goes on dry pavement. I’m hoping the triple snow peak rating and more tire width will significantly improve traction in the snow. In the next week or so I’ll also be finishing a DIY steel engine skid plate that I’m currently working on. I’ll try to get dimensions for it once fitment is confirmed in case anyone is interested in doing the same. Overall, my plan is to also install a 40mm leveling lift kit to add some piece of mind on forest roads. I’m also going to add spacers under neath my trunk panel so I can fit a full sized spare tire with out the floor of the trunk being unsteady. I live in Colorado and enjoy the mountains here so these mods will hopefully make living with this car better for me. I don’t plan on doing any gnarly trails in this car but I’m excited to take it out with slightly better piece of mind. Read more”

“2026 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness with new Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail All-Terrain Tires - 225/65R17! My speedometer and odometer readings are pretty much spot-on—maybe about a 1% difference at most. Road noise is the same as stock (if not slightly better), and grip on gravel and loose terrain is easily 30% better. Overall, stepping up to the slightly taller size for that extra ~0.5" of clearance and sidewall cushion was definitely the right move. The ride quality is great. The only thing I can’t comment on yet is tread longevity since I just got them mounted, but I'll check back in with an update down the road!”

“Just Ordered Wildpeak A/T Trails, Will I Regret It? Long story short, I used to use my car for my work vehicle until gas went through the roof. Now that I have a company truck, my car will only get used when I say it will for personal stuff. Most of my driving is on pavement, in the WNC mountains. My concern is that our pavement is incredibly rough, as in all the tar erodes off, and you're left with basically 80 grit sandpaper for pavement. So, I'm mainly concerned about pre-mature tread wear. I do however do some light offroading, forrest circus gravel roads, etc. Opinons? Read more”

“Guess my text did not make it. Reference photos of my 2024 and former 2019 with 265/45r21 Wildpeak A/T Trail tires if anyone would ever be interested in installing these. Just got these installed, so gas mileage info not available but on my ‘19 with the Braseltons, it was a pretty negligible difference between the OEM tire and these. I am guessing the slight difference was mostly due to a little heavier tire but I was/am okay with that. Quiet and comfortable ride in my opinion.”

“Bought Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL All- Terrain Radial Tire-225/60R17 but my garage is recommending I don't put them on because it can mess with the transmission of a Subaru? Any info on this? Bought Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL All- Terrain Radial Tire-225/60R17 and went to have them mounted today. The garage is telling me I shouldn't mount them because Subaru is very specific about what tire to use. They said I need 225/55/17. Any knowledge of info would be appreciated.”
