“2023 CX5 Tire Change - 2 yr update on Pirelli Scorpion Switched from the OEM Toyo tires to Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3s on my 2023 Mazda CX-5 at around 47,000 miles . The car is now at 95,000 miles , so I’ve put about 48,000 miles on them over the last two years. One thing I wasn’t expecting was the fuel economy improvement. Before the swap I consistently averaged around 22–23 MPG . Since switching, I’ve been averaging 26–27 MPG with essentially the same commute and driving habits. The ride is quieter, smoother, and the wet-weather grip has also been noticeably better. Math: 48,000 miles driven 22.5 MPG → ~2,133 gallons 26.5 MPG → ~1,811 gallons Fuel saved: ~322 gallons Estimated fuel savings: ~$1,175 Cost of Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3s: $821.67 Net fuel savings after tire cost: ~+$350 Inb4 stock toyos are trash. “Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT installed Just replaced the OEM Pirelli ATs with the new Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT 275/65r20 116T Elect version. Got a decent deal from Discount Tire - they price matched a deal from Sam’s Club and gave me a credit for my old tires. So far very impressed with the ride and they look 💯👌🏻. I have them inflated to 44 PSI (which is the max for these tires) and so far no issues with low pressure warnings. Will update in a bit with efficiency numbers if I remember.”

“Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive. Car : 2020 Mazda CX5 Touring AWD. Replace OEM Yokohama G91 Geolander with Pirelli Scorpion weatheractive all weather tire. It is day and night difference! Drive is plush and soft, no tire noise, turns dont push you to the side anymore. Bumps are feeling so much softer on WI cracked roads. Steering is so much lighter. Man it feels like a new car. I did lot of research between CC2 and Pirelli. Pirelli won hands down. If soft and quiet ride is your priority while keeping snow peak rating, Pirelli is better than CC2. CC2 has better snow performance by like 5% [which is not noticeable unless you are on track] but those are noisy low mpg and hard tires. Easy decision to go with newer Pirellis. Pirelli rank best in noise, sound, road comfort, ice braking and wet braking. Ranks 2nd or 3rd in snow though.”

“Update on Pirelli Scorpion S3 summer (2026) Sorry to add another post - I couldn’t add an image to the previous post. Finally some rain to compare with initial experience. 350 mike drive through sun and squally rain, with a mixture of dry, wet and pooled water at one point. Really great grip in the wet, very confident, and not troubled by the weather at all. In fact, it was hard to tell any difference to the excellent grip in the dry. On one part of the drive with standing water, they coped well (it was a public road, so I didn’t attempt any thing like “curved aquaplaning”!). The grip and handling is excellent, more towards the sporty end of touring and much more positive and assured compared to the previous Bridgestones and the don’t tramline line the PZ4’s on another car I was driving before. They are quiet and comfortable, with noise in the cabin that might get slightly louder with rougher tarmac (a bit like low wind noise) but none of the horrible loud rumble from the previous tyres. No vibrations over concrete motorway surfaces either. They are firmer than the old tyres and perhaps have a slightly firmer feel over fine imperfections but surprisingly complient over sharp edged larger bumps - the closest description it probably like the bump having the sharp edged larger bumps smoothed out, if that makes sense. “New Tires Range Hit? Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 ELECT Just recently swapped the OE Continentals for the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 ELECT tires and drove a little over 500 miles since then. The same commute I’ve been taking went from around 220-240 Wh/mi to 260-280 Wh/mi. Longer trips on almost pure highway went from 270 Wh/mi to 285-290 Wh/mi. I guess the new tires has higher rolling resistance than the OE tires and probably should have looked into Hankook Ion if one was to want efficiency? The Pirelli is comfortable and quiet, just the hit in efficiency wasn’t what I was expecting. Read more”

“Experience with Pirelli Scorpion A/S Plus 3? I’ve never owned an SUV before. I was surprised to see that Michelin Pilot Sports were not available for SUVs. Having said that, I replaced the 20 inch OEM Bridgestone Ecos which I HATED on my Lexus RX350 premium plus 3.5 V6 with Pirelli Scorpions. Kind of a shame, because the Bridgestones had lots of tread left, but I HATED them. It was tough enough going to Lexus after 3 BMWs. So far, I’ve put about 1,000 miles on the Scorpions, and I have to say, these are great tires. The RX350 certainly isn’t a BMW, but it’s WAY WAY better with the Scorpions. Leer más”
