“Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance SUV - disappointing ditchfinders? Hi all, We're about 4 months into our EX30 ownership (dual motor, UK) and as the weather here changes into the winter and roads become greasy and slippy, I've become increasingly disappointed in the OEM Goodyear boots that the car came supplied with. They are twitchy, lose traction very easily and often break away at the back end without even the smallest amount of provocation. My wife has also commented that they don't inspire confidence in the wet and she's found herself tip-toeing around them at junctions and roundabouts in a way that she's never had to do with other car / tyre combos. Our previous car (Cupra Born) also had Goodyears as OEM tyres, but I don't remember them being as bad as these. In the end, those were recalled by the manufacturer and we had Continentals on for most of our life with the car, which were absolutely fine even with only RWD. The other car is on its second set of Michelin CrossClimates (which are absolutely excellent!) and I'd planned on fitting these to the EX30 when the Goodyears wore out, but I'm now seriously considering replacing them early and flogging them on as part-worns to recoup a bit of the lost cash. I certainly wouldn't have picked Goodyears myself, but does anyone else have any experience (especially on crappy UK autumn road conditions!) that they care to share before I go and burn some money on an early-race pit stop...? “GOODYEAR EfficientGrip Performance 205/55 R17 91V - reliability and resistance to damage question Hello guys! I'm driving Skoda Octavia. not a racer, just a usual 40yo man. I have a set of GOODYEAR EfficientGrip Performance 205/55 R17 91V on the car, and during the last 2 months I lost three tires, all the same way - pothole on the road, visibly small, front right wheel, instantly deflates, and a hole in tire not on tread but on the side - irreparable, new tire for 130eur, repeat again. Do you by chance know if it's the pattern for the model, or am I getting EXTREMELY unlucky? Can you maybe suggest some tire models and characteristics to look into to stop this from happening? I have only 2 out of 4 original tires left, so maybe it makes sense to change the entire set.”

“How bad is this? Should I replace these Goodyear efficient grips? Apparent tread chipping. DOT 2021, Made in 🇩🇪. Run 30k kilometres(18,000 miles). Mild off-roading on some back roads. “Ultra contact is average, never tried e-primacy but currently on primacy 5 and they aren't worth the price . My brother drives on Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 currently, and they are way better than ultra contact ( he used them last year, and better than my michelin), so honestly it would be a no brainer to go with Goodyear for me. BUT since you're driving a mazda 3, can't you find continental premium contact in this size ? They are really GOOD, I had them last year, you always have good grip, dry/wet, doesn't matter, that tire is very alive in corner, it enjoys being pushed in corners, only downside is that they wear faster than Goodyear, but I say it's well worth it.”
