Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 vs Vredestein Ultrac — Compared (September 2026)

“215/45 R17 — Primacy 4+ or Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 for a daily driver My current tyres have developed deep cracks so they need replacing. The annoying part is that half the tyres people recommend simply don't exist in 215/45 R17, which cuts the list down fast. The two that keep coming up are the Michelin Primacy 4+ and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, but they seem built for completely different drivers. Context: 2024 skoda Fabia 1.5 TSI. I'm not a sporty driver commuting and errands, occasionally push the pedal on an on-ramp, nothing crazy. Hot dry climate with heavy rain in winter and zero snow, so summer tyres only. “Goodyear EfficentGrip Performance 2 vs. Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 I'm struggling to choose between the two as there is currently a deal on which means the difference in price is only £5 per tyre. I think that means the Asy6 is the no brainer, but my use case doesn't call for a UHP. I value comfort, road noise and resistance to dry cracking over anything else. I don't do many miles. I've already got the Asy6 on the rear axle (came with the wheels) and I'm looking to buy 2 new tyres for the front. I'll need rears at some point probably in the next year. I'd like my car to be more comfortable on broken roads, but I don't think the tyres are the main issue. The car is a Merc C180 estate family car. With 2 young kids, I don't exactly push the car hard. “I've had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 (235/45/18). They were really sturdy, comfort was super bad with them and I sold them for half the price. These are sport tyres, you do not need them.”

“No EV ready logo on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 I recently bought Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 255/45R19 104Y XL SCT tyres. According to this article, this tyre should contain EV Ready logo but my tyres do not have it. I discussed with seller and they claimed that this tyres are ev ready even if it does not have the ev ready logo. Is that possible ? Can i trust that my tyres are EV Ready ?”

“Are budget tyres closing the gap to premium? I changed a set of tyres on my daily pd130 winter bash about and managed to get a set of vredestein ultrac for £80 a tyre fitted which I thought was a pretty good price. The tyre fitting service was saying to me that the gap between budgets and premium is much smaller in the last 10 years and that taxis tend to opt for budget tyres all the time and have no issues. “I just had a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta put on. Initial thoughts... I got them in 275/40/20 for the fronts and 315/35/20 for the rears. They fit the wheels perfectly. I immediately noticed a much softer ride. Sport Mode now feels like Tour Mode, maybe even softer. I DD my ZL1 so cold weather performance is very important. Temps were near 40°F and they stayed quite grippy. This is a huge improvement over the stock Goodyear's. Initial turn in response is good. I had the opportunity to push them on an off ramp and they felt a little mushy when pushed and didn't seem to want to exceed .75g I had a set of these on a previous car (2004 ZO6) and expect great wet weather performance. “The Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta are probably the best sport tyres ever made. Ive sold tyres for a living since I was 16, I've tried and tested hundreds of different tyres so i can give my customers the best advice, so I class myself as somewhat of an expert. The Sessantas are brilliant. I had them on an X5 for 8,000 miles, they couldn't have performed all round any better. EDIT: Oh and they wear so evenly it's unbelievable!”
